This week the Maryland Court of Appeals expanded liability of adults and parents for providing alcohol to underage teens in their home. If an injury or death occurs, a parent or a supervising adult can be sued. The liability was expanded to injury to third parties, So if a drunk teen leaves your house and crashes their car and injures or kills someone you may be liable.
This issue has been debated in the courts but now the final word has come down. The so called keys party where a parent provides alcohol so long as the teens drop their keys with the parent should now be a thing of the past.
